DGT Multilingual Translation Memory

In November 2007, the European Commission made its translation memories publicly available in the industry standard tmx format, a special xml file format for translation memory units.

A unique resource and reference for legal translations

DGT stands for Directorate General for Translations and it is the organisation that takes care of Europe's translations. The DGT has now made available the translations of European laws in the tmx translation memory format. The translations could of course be consulted on their websites but now translators can create translation memories from the tmx files and use these memories as reference material to look up legal terms in their translation memory software.

Depending on the language pair, you will have several hundred thousand translation units in your memory.
